The RSV and SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Combo Rapid Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of RSV and SARS-CoV-2 infectious diseases in human nasopharyngeal swab specimens as an aid in the diagnostic of RSV and SARS-CoV-2 infectious diseases.
RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVlD-19) areboth highly contagious respiratory viruses, but they affect populations differently. RSV isa leading cause of severe respiratory illness in infants and older adults, while SARS-CoV-2has caused a global pandemic affecting all age groups. Symptoms of RSV often resemblea common cold but can escalate to bronchiolitis or pneumonia, characterized by severecough, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. In contrast, SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19)presents with a wider range of symptoms, including fever, cough, fatigue, and loss ottaste or smell. While many cases are mild, it can lead to severe pneumonia, acute respira-tory distress syndrome (ARDS), and systemic complications.
